Testimonials
Gina Petrikas: I am submitting this testimonial as a private citizen, but the remarks included are based on my personal experience with Principal Mike Halt in my position as Parliamentarian for a SCHS school-connected organization.
Mike Halt and I attended the same General Meetings and Executive Board Meetings twice a month for the past two years. As a brand new principal, he quickly immersed himself in all things SCHS while he intently listened. Soon he had the lay of the land and starting getting things done. He was quick to recognize problems, ask for input as needed, and work towards a resolution. With each success he recognized those that helped make success possible, most time never mentioning his own involvement. In the monthly general meetings he was very forthright in his updates and answered every question from the audience, never back-pedaling or being evasive. Both discipline and respect increased in equal measure. I personally witnessed nothing but positive action, a humble attitude, and a respectful demeanor from Mike Halt while he served at San Clemente High School Principal; and am grateful to his efforts in making our campus a safer and more enjoyable experience for students, parents, and staff. Go Tritons!

Paige Forman: What a turnaround our school has gone through in the past two years! Morale is up, AP IB class enrollment is up, drug problems on campus are down, truancy is down, bullying is down, the campus is cleaner and students seem to feel a real sense of accountability and responsibility that I think had been missing previously. I accredit it all to our Principal, Mike Halt! He came to SCHS and almost immediately gained the respect and admiration of the students, teachers, and parents.
I love the fact that every time I am at the school Mike is an active participant on campus. He is a physical presence making sure kids are getting to class on time, taking a personal interest in his students, and picking up trash. I was most impressed by Mike during the registration fiasco at the beginning of the school year. All of the parents, who were volunteering that first day, knew that the District Offices had unfortunately created a huge mess for our school. He worked his tail off with a very limited staff since we only had two returning advisors. I drove by campus that evening on my way home from work and took a chance. Sure enough, at 7:00 at night, there was Mike Halt still working and trying to help correct student's schedules. He invited me in the office and proceeded to fix my son's schedule. And in true form of someone with great integrity, apologized for the problems and inconvenience and took responsibility for something that was not his fault. Many other parents showed up and none of them were turned away. I hear he was there until very late that night. What a great example to our kids. A hard worker - a great leader - and a humble man of integrity. I feel fortunate that my son had this rare person in his life as a role model.
